Pineapple Amigurumi FREE Pattern

Happy Friday everyone!

I can’t believe there’s only one week left to the official beginning of summer. Do you have exciting things planned? I remember when I was in high school I used to make a list of everything I wanted to accomplish during summer vacations, like going to the movies, having a picnic or simply make new friends. This year it will mostly be about finishing my portfolio and finding an internship.

Now back to the good stuff! Since summer is close and you seemed to enjoy my last pattern, Lemony the Mascot, I thought I could share another cute pattern of mine, my sweet Pineapple! I created this little fellow to be my lemon’s best friend, and they sure make an amazing yellow duo! If you’re more interested in directly purchasing them, simply head over to my shop!

Lemon and friend

The pattern is written in U.S. terminology. This project is worked in rounds so you might want to use a stitch marker to mark the end/beginning of each round (a contrasting piece of yarn should be enough). There is no specific gauge for this project, just try to keep it tight and even throughout. Your final Pineapple will end up with approximately 6cm (2in). If you make a Pineapple of your own with this pattern I would love to see it, so please tag me in your posts and/or use the hashtag #lemonyarncreationspattern on social media.

  • 3mm Crochet Hook
  • Worsted Weight Yarn (4ply) in Yellow and Green
  • Pink Felt (for the cheeks)
  • 6mm Safety Eyes
  • Polyester Fiberfill Stuffing
  • Yarn Needle
  • Scissors
  • Craft Glue

  • Rnd/s – Round/Rounds
  • MR – Magic Ring
  • Ch – Chain
  • St/s – Stitch/Stitches
  • Sc – Single Crochet
  • Inc – Increase
  • Dec – Decrease
  • [*] – Sequence of stitches to repeat
  • (*) – Number of stitches at the end of each round

Pineapple (in yellow yarn)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6)

Rnd 2: Inc around (12)

Rnd 3: [Sc, inc] around (18)

Rnd 4: Sc around (18)

Rnd 5: [Sc 2, inc] around (24)

Rnd 6-10: Sc around (24)

Rnd 11: [Sc 2, dec] around (18)

Place safety eyes between rnds 7 and 8, and 4 sts apart. Start stuffing.

Rnd 12: [Sc, dec] around (12)

Rnd 13: Dec around (6) Finish off and sew hole closed, hiding yarn end inside the pineapple.

Foliage (in green yarn)

This part will be worked in rows. Start by leaving a long tail.

Row 1: Ch 6, skip first ch from hook and sc 5 (5)

Row 2-4: Without turning, repeat steps from row 1

Row 5: Ch 4, skip first ch from hook and sc 3 (3)

Row 6-9: Without turning, repeat steps from row 5. Finish off.

Sew the foliage to the top of the pineapple, starting with the longer chains between rounds 1 and 2, and following the rounds of the pineapple.

Cut two small round pieces of pink felt for the cheeks, to be glued under the eyes (see picture as reference).

That’s it, you’ve just made a tiny Pineapple, the perfect friend to have on all occasion! I hope you enjoyed this little pattern of mine and thank you so much for your continuing support. Now let’s all have an amazing weekend full of sunshine and sweet treats!

  1. Hello,
I think this is super cute! I made the pineapple piece already but
I dont understand what happens in row 6-9, (Im such a beginner lol)
So after I chain 4, and 3 sc into the 3rd loop from the hook do I actually go
into the work and where (the rows of sc, rnds 1-4)?

    1. Hi! What you have to do is “chain 4, sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, and sc in the next 2 chains” that way you have 3 scs. Then you repeat it 4 more times (rows 6-9). ^^ I hope it’s clearer now and I’m happy you’re enjoying my pineapple pattern 🙂
